Common questions about TooTalk. If you cannot find an answer here, email iftikhar.digitalmarketer@gmail.com.
Are my messages private?
Yes. One-to-one and group messages are end-to-end encrypted, so only you and the people you are talking to can read them. Content you post to the public feed or to a channel is deliberately public.
Where are my chats stored?
On your device. Turn on backup in Settings to keep a copy in your own Google Drive, so you can restore after changing phones.
How do I back up and restore?
Settings, Chats, Backup. Restore is offered when you sign in on a new device.
How long does a status last?
24 hours. After that it is deleted from our servers and from your device automatically. You can also delete it sooner, and you can see who viewed it.
How do I share my live location?
In a chat, tap the attachment icon, choose Live location, then pick how long to share for. Tap Stop at any time to end it early. It stops on its own when the time runs out.
How do I stop someone messaging me?
Open their profile and tap Block, or use Settings, Privacy, to choose who can message you. You can also report them.
Why do I see ads?
Ads keep TooTalk free. They appear in the chat list, feed, channels, between statuses, on app open and after a call, never inside your private conversations. You can remove ads with the ad-free subscription.
How do I manage or cancel the subscription?
Open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals. Refunds are handled by Google Play.
How do I delete my account?
Settings, Account, Delete account. See the Account and Data Deletion page for details.
